Tuesday, April 18th: John Fox of Memory Miner

Fox_web

John Fox, the inventor and entrepreneur behind the extraordinary new software product, MemoryMiner, comes to Carleton.

MemoryMiner is a profound reinvention of the photo scrapbook that turns photos into digital stories.  It allows users to organize  their photos in multiple ways.  They can specify the people in each photo and create subcategories of the life periods of an individual.  Also, the software creates maps showing where photos were taken or where individuals have been.  Most interestingly, MemoryMiner allows users to attach text, audio and even video effects to photos.  Finally, it has the capacity to transform all of this into XML format to be posted on the Internet.
