TakgiuposterCo-sponsored by Pangea and CAP, the Film Festival will include:

Dinner for One (15 mins.) Written by British author Lauri Wylie in the 1920s, it presents a morbidly funny story in miniature.  Elderly Miss Sophie throws her birthday party every year, setting the table for her friends and conveniently ignoring the fact that they've all been dead for a quarter-century.

Singapore Rebel (26 mins.) I Have Something to Say (15 mins.) A film by amateur Bangladeshi filmmakers, depicting the lives of young, female garments workers in Bangladesh and their daily struggles and joys.

Tak Giu (15 mins.) Directed by Jacen Tan.  It follows the journey of 3 soccer-crazy boys.  Having taken up the challenge of a friendly soccer match, the boys realize that it is not easy to find a good, free, public soccer field in Singapore...if there are any at all.

Jeninjenin18 (18 mins) Directed by Daniel Lim, this documentary attempts to uncover the mystery behind the socio-political-economic graffiti that has popped up around the streets of Kuala Lumpur.  Runner-up in the amateur category of the 2005 Freedom Film Fest.

Jenin Jenin (54 mins.)  Directed by Mohammed Bakri.  The testimonies of Jenin residents are recorded after the Israeli army's Defensive Wall operation, during which the city and camp saw fierce fighting.  Jenin Jenin shows the extent to which the prolonged oppression and terror has affected the state of mind of the Palestinian inhabitants of Jenin.
