Robert Greenwald and Brave New Films, the team behind Uncovered: The War on Iraq and Outfoxed, released their latest film this past week, Wal-Mart: the High Cost of Low Price. It is “a powerful expose on the toll the Wal-Mart behemoth has taken on workers and communities across the country, and how we can help turn the tide.”
The film brings many of Wal-Mart’s concealed business policies to the foreground as it explores why a company owned by the richest family in the nation leaves towns in ruins and its employees under the poverty line, without healthcare, and dependant on Medicaid. There will be a special showing on campus sponsored by Mpirg on Tuesday November 15, at 7:00 pm in Boliou 104 as part of a nation wide screening endeavor to spread the word.
Here is more information on the movie and the screening effort.
