CAMS is excited to announce that Assistant Professor Laska Jimsen has had her film Beaver Creek Yard (2013, 5.5 mins) accepted to the highly competitive 2013 Ann Arbor Film Festival. The film will be screened on the opening night of the festival on March 19.
Laska describes the newly-completed work as being both about a place, a Christmas tree processing facility on Beaver Creek Road, and also about the human impulse to control, exploit, and profit from the natural world.
Laska will also be screening several of her films and videos this coming Saturday, March 9, at 4:30 pm in the Weitz Cinema. This special faculty film screening event is hosted by the Carleton College Film Society. Laska will be in attendance to speak about her work — an opportunity not to be missed!
